May JOY & HAPPINESS accompany you today!

Have a Great Thursday!

About a week ago my scale began acting weird. Over the last several days I've switched out the batteries, had each of my girls try their own ideas, & we've done every possible combination of buttons trying to get it to measure weight again. Nothing has worked! emoticon To be fair, it is old. Not that we kept any info on date of purchase, but we've all given thought to it and believe it is at least 10 years old. (There is always scrolling back thru old blogs to see if I mentioned buying a new scale..........)

So I guess for now I'm taking a break from weighing myself! emoticon

And... I need to begin the search for replacing it!

Please share with me what scale you use or prefer. You can do it with a sparkmail message if you prefer not to share it on an open blog.

Choosing a scale seems to have grown more complicated in the last 10 years or so.

I don't need it to sync up with MY device(s), but my girls are interested in that feature & have mostly Android devices (Samsung, HP, Chromebook) or FitBits. My own desire is to keep it as inexpensive as possible. It needs to be able to give accurate weight at least up to 350 pounds.

In searching so far there are brand names I've never heard of, features that I've never considered using before, and prices varying from $15-20. on up to well over $100. which, by the way, it far too much, for me, anyway.

Do you have a favorite brand?

Are there features you feel you can't be without (besides weight)?

Is price your deciding factor?

Help me please!
When did buying a bathroom scale get so complicated?

Til next time...

Sorry to have just read your blog. I saw it said "Scales" and for a while (because of quarantine and not completely eating the way I was prior to it), I was staying away from my scale! I've gone back to weighing now -- Honesty is the best policy!

    About 15 months ago, I bought a:

"Eufy Smart Scale C1 with Bluetooth, Body Fat Scale, Wireless Digital Bathroom Scale, 12 Measurements, Weight/Body Fat/BMI, Fitness Body Composition Analysis, Black/White, lbs/kg" (that's the exact title from Amazon). I checked today and it lists for $35.99....

I really like this scale because I loaded an app on my phone for it and it keeps track of my weight, body fat, etc. and I can see my trends. Eufy has good ratings too and I've been very pleased.

On the "body fat" - I could see my percentage go down as I lost weight and knew I was losing body fat too. I don't know if it is super accurate, but I think it DOES show information that helps me in my own weight loss and health journey. Good luck!

emoticon I had hoped if I came over and read your post, you'd be telling me what scale to buy! Sorry I cannot help. The only thing I care about is weight, the rest is bells and whistles I don't give a whit about... (I don't want to stress over other things it tells me like BMI or, well, whatever.)

I am thinking I am going to go to a thrift store (when they open back up) and pick me up a good old fashion 1980s, 1990s scale. Of course, I will have to try it out before purchasing, just to make sure it is accurate.

Good luck on your search and thanks for asking others for their input. I am sure everyone has an opinion! emoticon
