Hello Spark Friends!
Just a note to let you know that me and my family are all well as we deal with COVID-19 pandemic events. Since hubby and I are considered in the 'high risk' category, we've made sure to take the necessary precautions (mask, gloves, disinfecting things) and stay at home. Oh how much we miss the rest of our family!
We are fortunate to live on multiple acres so daily 'physical distancing' is not difficult. We can spend hours outdoors without the worry of running into other people. There are plenty of little projects around home to keep us busy, too.
With regards to health & fitness, on April 10, 2020 – Good Friday – I completed Mark McManus’ Targeted Hypertrophy Training 3-day 10-week program!! I really liked this particular fitness training routine which hit all muscle groups three days each week.
I was able to use different equipment (dumbbells, resistance bands and loops, bionic bar, body weight). I used the biofeedback method learned from Coach Scott Abel to determine rest periods between sets and exercises. I liked the fact it didn’t take all day to complete a session which averaged 45 minutes. This program left me feeling stronger and there was no significant weight gain (1.1 pound). I do know all of my clothing fits and I can pull on my pants without unzipping/unbuttoning.
I took an active rest week afterwards which gave me time to decide on the current program that I started April 20th.
My current routine is a new fitness training program. Scott Abel’s Flexible Fitness Workouts (beta version). There are 6 different workouts for the whole body using resistance bands and body weight. This is a high-volume program, too. I used biofeedback to determine the necessary rest periods between sets and exercises.
I am on a M-W-F schedule. This program is worked by rotating through all six routines for however many weeks you want to work it. I am using this program for at least six weeks.
I hope that each of you are doing well. Thank you for taking the time to read this Blog.
Stay safe and healthy.
