Today I find myself in a unique position. Two family members treat me poorly and expect me to go out on a limb for them. It all centers around my mother, and the fact that I am the medical proxy and have the power of attorney. In other words, I have more power in this situation than they do, and they are trying to make me miserable over it.
As much as I can, I work with them. Today they have asked for too much, and I am sure that they will make life difficult for me in any way possible. In spite of it all, I will treat myself well when others do not!
