Beyond The moon

I’m looking out my window at the moon shining through our red oak tree in the front yard while I listen to soothing peaceful music worshipping my King. As darkness falls, the light of the half moon gets brighter. Always shining, reflecting the sun which is now hiding from our view. That’s like our God. It’s like our Lord, Jesus Christ. He’s always shining; and we are to reflect His rays.
Looking up at the moon now I can rest assured that He is up there, looking down at me. What a comfort and warmth I feel knowing this assurance. He loves us and cares for us. In the midst of a darkened world, getting darker as the years roll by, He remains the same. Loving me, caring for me, protecting from the enemy. The only constant in this universe is the Love of God.
I love looking at the moon and trying to imagine what it’s like up there. I almost transport myself up beyond the moon and I feel His presence here with me. Sometimes I wish I could just fly up there and see him in person. I wish I could see Him face to face and leave all the cares, crime, crises, conflicts and inner pain just for a visit then come back.
Mentally we can do that. Whether we are reading the Bible, listening to good Christian music, or just looking up at the moon shining brightly in the darkness, we can hear and feel His presence and lay down our burdens.
“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.” Psalms 42:11 NIV
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2 NIV
