Insurance Company says

I got a call today from the Insurance Company. From someone who is my 'claims handler' seemingly. So basically Insurance Company says YES. I have to say, I'd have been pretty damn angry if they'd turned it down. Not so much due to the cost but because they'd have been saying I was making a false claim. Trust me, if I were inclined to make fraudulent Insurance claims, A] I wouldn't put myself through 3 days of NO water and B] I wouldn't be claiming for a relatively small amount of money! Anyway seemingly they will pay for the plumbers work, plus the cost of repairing the wall where he had to cut out the plaster to get to the ruddy pipe. Not redecorating it though which is fair enough because it was in need of painting anyway. If it had to happen at all, thank goodness it was before all the decorating had been done.
Actually thank my 'project management'. As far as possible, I'm getting all the disruptive, messy, intrusive stuff done first. On the subject of which, I got all my quotes for the replacement windows. Decided the bathroom window had to be done too - it's a bit manky and doesn't open properly. Have chosen my fitter [Martin] and he's coming next Wednesday to replace the windows in the kitchen, bathroom, and smallest bedroom. Hurrah! As ever my decision was partly based on cost and partly based on how I felt about the person giving the quote. After all, if someone is going to be poncing about in your home, you need to feel comfortable with them imo.
