Insurance Company says

I got a call today from the Insurance Company.  From someone who is my 'claims handler' seemingly.  So basically Insurance Company says YES.  I have to say, I'd have been pretty damn angry if they'd turned it down.  Not so much due to the cost but because they'd have been saying I was making a false claim.  Trust me, if I were inclined to make fraudulent Insurance claims, A] I wouldn't put myself through 3 days of NO water and B] I wouldn't be claiming for a relatively small amount of money!  Anyway seemingly they will pay for the plumbers work, plus the cost of repairing the wall where he had to cut out the plaster to get to the ruddy pipe.  Not redecorating it though which is fair enough because it was in need of painting anyway.  If it had to happen at all, thank goodness it was before all the decorating had been done.



Actually thank my 'project management'.  As far as possible, I'm getting all the disruptive, messy, intrusive stuff done first.  On the subject of which, I got all my quotes for the replacement windows.  Decided the bathroom window had to be done too - it's a bit manky and doesn't open properly.  Have chosen my fitter [Martin] and he's coming next Wednesday to replace the windows in the kitchen, bathroom, and smallest bedroom.  Hurrah!  As ever my decision was partly based on cost and partly based on how I felt about the person giving the quote.  After all, if someone is going to be poncing about in your home, you need to feel comfortable with them imo.  

Today's offering from the 24 Days of Tea Calendar?  Pomegranate.  Wonderful aroma.

    glad they came through. putting windows in is expensive it took me about 5 years to complete the whole house, I wanted very good windows and bought and paid for each before I put another in

    Sounds like a lovely tea today... and you are such a great mom! What fond memories you've created with your Advent calendars (they would not have got you one had you not). I've always had a homemade faith-focused Advent calendar for the Divine Miss O with little pockets I fill, and we still put that one up... but now that she's so much older and has so many food sensitivities AND skin sensitivities, I've had to go looking for other options. This Body Shop one fits the bill so very well and each day delights her so. It's pricey, but the products are full size, and it would cost me much more if I had to create my own. So far she has: Banana Hair Mask, Apple Taffy Lip Stain, Coconut Hand Cream, and Youth Concentrate Sheet Mask (I might nick this one for myself, LOL). Today we shared Wensleydale cheese with Cranberries. The calendar is all British cheeses and made by a company called Ilchester... so far I highly recommend it.

    I on our kitchen and even as I was saying the "blind cabinet" had to stay where it was these 2 makes said "no woman wants to walk around the corner to get the baking pans. I guess it was just too hard to take a few extra steps. I guess you can tell I'm still angry about that. emoticon
