Thanksgiving went so well over at my son and wonderful DIL’s new house.
They pulled it off admirably and the weather cooperated so we could dine in the biggest room in the house...an enclosed sunroom (with a space heater).
Luckily, dear Jean and the kids had Wednesday off of school so they had all day to get ready.
(Funny story...they did not realize they had Wednesday off until Monday night, even though Jean is a teacher...lol...shows how overwhelmed they all are over there!)
I think there were 15 of us, including five children.
One guest brought small backpacks for the kids filled with arts supplies and goofy things.
Patrick and Jean honored my dear man by having him carve their tender and delicious turkey.
My husband’s pies were a huge hit, as usual.
(I am one of the fortunate ones who does not care for pies.)
I enjoyed a glass of Prosecco for my dessert.
Btw...I ate so well...a tiny spoonful of the high carb stuff, plenty of turkey, a splash of gravy, and seconds only on the sweet potato dish with the pecans on top.
We were a happy and thankful crowd.
Pearl, 5, begged for the drumstick.
William, 9, our picky eater, ate a lot of turkey...with ketchup!
Lucy, 10, was a big help.
SOOOOOOOO excited to be taking Patrick and Lucy to the theater tonight to see Trinity Rep’s latest rendition of A Christmas Carol (they change it up a bit each year).
This is in keeping with my goal of giving experiences instead of more ‘stuff’, which they do not need.
Not happy about the forecast but I think we may get more rain than snow thIs evening....the theater is about an hour away.
May you all have a peaceful and relaxing Sunday.
I love decorating my kitchen window!
