Broke my 50 year streak!

I have cooked Thanksgiving dinner every single November since 1968.
I’m getting pretty good at it, though some meals are better than others.
My dear man and I clearly remember the first major fight in our months-old marriage was while cooking our first Thanksgiving meal together...too young to understand that we were just very poor and homesick teenagers far from home trying to recreate the meal and traditions that we remembered from our very different families of origin.
By the next year there were three of us and, while still dirt poor, our communication skills had improved...lol!
By the next year, we were four and living in our third state in two years (Air Force).
Somehow, we always found a way to prepare a feast to celebrate our good life and show our gratitude....never once ate in a restaurant or in someone else’s home.
Now we have three adult children (and their partners) and three grandchildren in our family...I feel so blessed.
But this year my son and his wife and three littles FINALLY moved into a bigger house and asked to host.
They are soooooo excited and happy to do it that we ended up catching their enthusiasm!
Pat and Jean are well into their 40’s but as excited as kids before Christmas about pulling off this major undertaking.
And we are happy to step aside and let them do it!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American Sparkpeeps...enjoy the day!
