Christmas, ALREADY????

Sunday, November 17, 2019

LAST SATURDAY I went to the store and the Salvation Army’s Bell Ringers were already out ringing their bells and wearing Christmas stocking caps!!!

I am not ready for Christmas bell ringers this early!

And I am not ready for Christmas music in stores yet either!

Am I just a grouchy old grinch!?!?!??

I'm getting ready to leave on a trip and won't be home until the week after Thanksgiving. Imagine my surprise when I checked the calendar and realized once I get home there will only be 2 1/2 weeks until Christmas!!! I typically don't decorate until after Thanksgiving anyway, but with the holiday so late this year it certainly abbreviates out holiday season!

For sure Thanks giving is seemingly relegated to a non-entity. Hallmark has always had Christmas in July -- not sure what the point is, but for sure starting a little early with the Christmas festivities. Not paying it heed till after Thanksgiving!

No you are perfectly normal! Thanksgiving is late this year which makes it feel like the stores are rushing Christmas. According to my retail manager son, November 15 is usually the deadline for getting Christmas set.

Christmas gets earlier every year. Thanksgiving is our feast to give thanks for one another. emoticon

Things seem to really be changing. Last either July or August the Hallmark had nothing but Christmas movies every day for the entire month! Last three weeks I can not watch a favorite show of mine, because Hallmark is at it again--chick romance Christmas movies! .. Seems there is little mention of Thanksgiving any more. Does seem a shame.
