In the last few months I have been working on WHY I cannot lose weight with my MD. In the last year, I tracked and tracked, barely any movement. People would say you did it once you can do it again. Last time I tracked and exercise.. frankly it came off. This time I would those things and seemed like it would move barely. Anyhow, after lots of testing, we finally have a diagnosis.
I was diagnosis with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Now no one wants this diagnosis but I FINALLY have a reason why my hard work isn't doing much. It wasn't my fault. I wasn't not working enough. There are a few components of PCOS - one of them that you gain weight and it is VERY difficult (almost impossible) to lose it. People with it, get hypertension and diabetes.
My doctor has suggested metformin. It gets subscribes for people with diabetes. I do not have diabetes but it can prescribes for folks with PCOS to help lose weight. I am considering it. I am also going to go the nutritionist because I know different ways of eating can help. BUT the internet provides a zillion different opinion on how one is supposed to eat with PCOS.
