So, this morning I decided to have an everything bagel with cream cheese, cucumber, tomato and red onion slices with coffee for breakfast. I don't usually do this because of all the carbs and calories. But I went for it this morning. It was so delicious!!! If I had lox to add, I would be in heaven!
However, now I know that I must be insulin resistant (I'm not diabetic but have been getting close to pre-diabetic off and on for years) because my heart was racing for a while after eating this. Oh well, it's confirmation that I need to avoid such foods!! Mind you, I hardly ever ever ever eat bagels anymore.
Is there anyone out there that is low-carb, keto, paleo, etc... that loves bagels? I can quit it for good, but I wonder what the alternative would be, should I have another craving? I guess pizza is another vice. I don't really like cauliflower crust though, maybe it's all in the flour substitute for me, instead of white flour. I'm open for suggestions :)
