recently diagnosed with ckd

Back in early June after the routine lab work results came back I found out that I had chronic kidney disease and I had to go and see a nephrologist. Found out that I am stage 3 CKD. Since then I have done lots of research and have recently switched to a whole food plant based diet and my labs have since then improved. Hoping that the lab work that will be done in December will again show improvement.
I realize that I will always have CKD, but instead of going the normal route and just following a renal diet where most folks are simply trying to prevent their numbers from dropping too quickly and eventually needing to go on dialysis and then towards a kidney transplant I am now working to improve my numbers. Lots of folks following this lifestyle have actually gotten off dialysis and were taken off the transplant wait list because their lab results are showing improvement and I am hoping to never have to get to the point of having to go on dialysis to begin with.
Yes, this lifestyle is a bit more restrictive on what we eat and can not eat - but my life is worth it! I would rather change my lifestyle and not have to keep worrying about how long before I will need dialysis and enjoy life instead.
