Weekend Plans and Sad News

I see so many women in my FB groups that left the hospital in their pre-pregnancy pants, or are already losing 30-40lbs, and I've barely lost 3-4lbs at 3 months. My psychiatrist did mention something yesterday that made me think. She was talking about eating high protein low carb and how that is a generally very successful diet, and it got me thinking about how I lost all that weight before eating high protein moderate carb. I've been working on my protein this time around but haven't really been paying attention to my carbs. I just took a peek at my carbs for this past week and saw they are averaging about double what I used to eat! In fact, my pumpkin spice coffee (mmm) this morning had 90 carbs in it!!! I'm going to have to start Operation: Carb Watch. My husband agrees, and when I asked him why he wasn't helping me more he said it was because I never explicitly told him to stop enabling. So hopefully he and I are on the same page now.
As the weather gets nicer I'd like to do some more walking. I haven't been able to convince hubby to buy a zoo membership for $140, but maybe a state park pass since my niece has so many events there in the Fall (we bought one the last two years). So for now just around the neighborhood. I can't drive so I can't take him anywhere unless my husband is willing to go, and the good walking places (state park, mall, trails) aren't nearby. We're next to the middle of nowhere, it's just starting to get developed, but I am doing a fundraiser walk next weekend and if the weather is right baby'll be doing it with me. Afterwards we're going to the zoo with my brother and his family, so he'll get some good fresh air and I'll get some great walking in either way.
This weekend is probably going to be a lazy weekend, though. Tomorrow is tea with my grandma at a Vietnamese inspired tea shop called the Thirst-Tea Café. They serve bubble tea and Vietnamese nibbles. We're going back next week with my grandma and my brother's family, so we're using this weekend as a way to kind of stake it out for what's good! Then the rest of the long weekend will probably be used to watch the last Harry Potter movie (we've been watching them all over the last week) and clean the house. Maybe I will see if we can get out to the state park on Sunday or Monday, though. I bet it will be busy but this weekend is a great time to get out there and walk.
I got disappointing news today, the job I interviewed for was indeed a failure. I was sick that day, and not thinking clearly. My husband was sick, too, and my son. So bad sleep, feeling poorly - I screwed up the interview. I knew it as it was happening. I knew it afterwards. And it was confirmed today with not one but TWO rejection emails. So now I have to figure out how to make some extra money on the side that is not an MLM or VIPKids.
