Today is day 600 of me logging on to Sparkpeople and engaging in a healthy lifestyle, little by little becoming more healthy, stable and strong. It's a journey that becomes more exciting as I go. I have not lost all the weight I had planned to (yet) and I am not lifting the amount of weight I want but I will get there. Yesterday, Nita, a friend, walked by pushing the wheelchair of woman with severe dementia she cares for. We talked quite a while enjoying the day and the garden. I had been mowing and stopped to say hi. She's a bit younger than I but being in the healthcare field we both agree that age is just a number and you have to do the good stuff to keep this temple in best order. Today I will celebrate the 600th day of this journey, knowing I have come a great distance since I retired in December of 2017.Sometimes I think it would be a lovely thing to just sit and rock, knit or crochet....be an old sedentary person, but like Nita said yesterday, "No, girl, you have to keep mowing." She's so right, not going to the gym, doing stuff that is counter productive is a slippery slope and I have already fallen and fractured my spine, no more slip sliding!

I was sitting on the deck yesterday with my son who said "what's with all these butterflies"? Well, I have been cultivating a garden to attract them. It's really hard to get pictures of the cause they flitter flutter around so much. Here's a picture I managed to get still a little blurry but you get the idea.
