August Goals 2019

Saturday, August 10, 2019

In the few months, I feel like I have working alot on my health. I have a laundry list of symptoms so I took myself to the doctor to get to the bottom of this. To say the least that didn't go as I would have liked. Basically, my doctor sucks, didn't care nor listened, listened to my heart, lungs and tummy and that is all. So, I fired her. I need someone that wants to work on my health WITH me.

In the mean time I have been researching a few things here and there. My main health concerns have been inability to lose weight, calf muscle pain, fatigue, numbness and a few more. During May and June, I worked with my trainer on choosing better foods and tracking on MFP. Even through I did not lose weight on the scale, for those two months swapped out fat pounds for muscle pounds which is GREAT.

In addition to that, I also did a body fat assessment which I compared from March to August and I gained 5# muscle and 2# fat. I asked my trainer today how can I trim off the fat and gain the muscle. Simply put, he said it showed him that I have been eating in excess. It was just observation, not a judgement.

It got me thinking about my metabolism rate vs how many calories I ate. According the BF% machine, my rate is 1700 calories a day so I want to aim for that and see if my body weight changes.

In addition to that, my symptoms could be leaky gut so I started to look at how to heal that. You can do the elimination diet which at this point is not for me. I want to continue to eat fruits and veggies but it's hard for me to cut complete things out. For this month, I want to focus on seeing if anything changes if I add in probiotic. In my research, I learn muscle pain which I get at sometimes very intensely can be caused by leaky guy and/or deficiency of Vitamin D. My last doctor told me I was deficiency of Vitamin D. At the time I didn't realize it could cause fatigue and muscle pain so going to start that. Honestly, it really can't hurt to take probiotic and vitamin D and see if it helps with the pain.

So my goals this month are:
1. Aim for 1700 calories a day
2. Aim to take my probiotic and vitamin D
3. Aim to get to the gym 15x a month

I haven't really touched on gym attendance goal. The last two months I did 13x each month, with some weeks at 5x. I definitely feel like I can get closer to 5x on a regular basis depending on the work schedule.

When I was living in CA, my DR. prescribed 5,000IU's of vitamin D. Yes even in sunny southern CA, people are deficient in D. Most people are because of wearing sunscreen. I also take probiotics and magnesium/postassium aspartate for leg cramps. Butd that is me, you might need different things. Hope you find a new DR who will work with you.

glad you fired your Dr. You definitely need a Dr. who listens and will work with you. Otherwise, things aren't going to get better. I hopw your path works for you. You certainly have a reasonable action plan to accomplish your goals.
