Happy Independence Day my sparkfriends!
Went to the bariatric weight loss surgery seminar on Monday and found out I don't weigh enough for the surgery! Glad I went though as I learned some tricks about how to eat and exercise during the seminar. Of course it was a disappointment to not be able to have the surgery but it caused me to refocus my weight loss efforts and the last two days have been awesome.
I did see my doctor about weight loss several weeks ago and she recommended a certain way to eat to stay full which I have been unable to do until yesterday. Basically it is to eat 85 grams of protein and 35 grams of fiber every day and naturally to workout more than I had been doing.
In the meantime I was researching how to diet like I had the surgery and protein was the key to weight loss with of course small meals. So between my doctor's suggestions, what I learned from the seminar and my own research yesterday was my first day meeting those goals. Also using SP for motivation I am very motivated now to do what I am supposed to and am grateful I have a plan according to my weight and age.
My last blog I was very frustrated with my weight loss but now I really believe I will start seeing results after much planning, tracking and education. I feel in control of my diet and also feel motivated to work out especially with Leslie Sansone, streaming her videos which yesterday I did a pilates walking workout which was fun. I have always liked her and appreciate how she talks about focusing on the muscle groups during the workout. Not to just think about other things or zoning out. Somehow this helps!
I have also decided to only weigh in on Fridays to stop obsessing every day about my weight. This is freeing! Instead I will focus on my NSVictories which yesterday was staying in my calorie range, hitting my levels with protein and fiber and getting in a good workout. I believe the weight will come off gradually if I stick to the plan. I have also quit drinking my calories and am avoiding alcohol and sugary drinks.
We got this! I will be updating my page shortly to reflect my new goals so I will let you know when that happens in the next few days.
Hope you all are finding your focus and that everyone has a safe 4th of July. Keep you pets inside tonight especially.
Keep on Sparking! Thanks for the support especially my last blog!
