Weigh-in: June 1, 2019: Mission 195 Accomplished!

==WEIGHT GOAL
My weight goal since starting her on SP nearly 10 years ago has been 195 pounds. It was the weight I was at when I was at my healthiest.


==THE PATH BEFORE SPARK
In the early/mid 2000s, I gained a TON of weight. Bad breakup, tough family situation, church...yeah. In the Summer of 2004, when the scale said 249, I did what most do when they hit *that* weight....I gave up and stopped weighing myself.

In 2005, by logistical necessity I made one change to my diet. Instead of the usual 1100 calorie McDonald's breakfast I had at the rest stop on the way to work most mornings, I would prep a meal of whole grain cereal, skim milk, walnuts and either 2 fried eggs or chicken leftover from the previous night. After a few months when I noticed that the clothes were getting seriously looser, I stepped back on the scale for the first time. It said 238.

I stayed around there for a couple of years. In December of 2008, completely on a dare, I gave up sweets/chocolate. Word to the wise: If you truly believe that Trent can't do something and you absolutely NEED to be proven wrong, then tell him that to his face. A month later I was down to 225. I stagnated until mid-Summer 2009

Still being obese, I realized that health issues were going to get me sooner or later. I made the commitment to try whatever it would take to healthfully lose the weight.

==SPARKPEOPLE
After checking out several of the traditional support systems (and seeing how expensive they were), I remembered seeing a video a year or so prior for a stability ball workout where the person had plugged their site as a free healthy lifestyle support site. So a quick YouTube search later I found Coach Nicole's video and went onto SparkPeople for the first time.

Weight loss was extremely slow at first, but small habits were getting built. Though the eating was better it wasn't great, but exercise was paying off. In July of 2010 I went below 200 pounds and even came within a pound of 195. Then I stagnated. Then I gained a fair amount of weight back through 2011/2012

In 2013, I found an eating program that helped severely reduce sugar cravings and it worked, I went from being almost obese again back down below 200, but again missing my goal by the same 0.8 pounds. Then the usual happened, gained it back.

This year (as over the past several) we decided to give it another go.


==MY SPARKFRIENDS
Through it all my SparkFriends have been there to support me. Some since Blog 1 or 2. Some consistently SparkMailing, gift-giving and page commenting even when they know I'm not active. All this while not really knowing what's going on in my life (frankly this decade has not been kind to me in a lot of ways). For your support and friendship, words seriously can not express how grateful I am to and for you. You know who you are.

This all brings us to this morning.....


==WEIGH-IN
Last Week: 196.8@21%
This Week: 194.8@21% (-2.0 pounds)

We reached and passed goal weight. Mission 195 Accomplished!


==NEXT STEPS
While my weight goal has finally been reached, the other half of the original goal was a body fat percentage of 15%. When I was around 195 I was also at that percentage (extremely active at the gym and walked a lot).

The American Council on exercise puts 15% right at the cusp of "Fitness" and "Athlete". 21% is in the "average" range. Not sure if that's good or not.


==CONCLUSION
So, in conclusion......

    Think I've been here as long as you have - with breaks on both sides - and have seen you struggle -succeed - slither - disappear - return to work on yourself - and here you are NOW with a solid victory. Very impressive. Congrats TD - you so deserve this

    Holy stability ball, Trent-man! You DID it! I am so happy for you.
    I know you will not sabotage this time, that you will find a lot more "weighs"(SO BAD!) to keep up the momentum and lose to the weight you feel comfortable with now.

    I remember when you first came here, you were eating out a LOT with friends. Now it is all about YOU and what you do to prep even going out with them. New lifestyle, healthier Trent.
