Nothing to Fear

Thursday, May 09, 2019

Recently I picked out a new half marathon to run and had a couple friends to discourage me about doing it. Ironically, they are always like be careful when I am runners, even through they are runners. For a few years, I had hip/feet issues. After seeing my PCP, two physical therapists, a gait analysis, an X-ray, I found out that it was never a broken tendon or broke. It was simply an imbalance between the two sides. My right side tried to help the left which causes pain from taking the brunt of it, but never ever an injury. The rational part of said I have nothing to fear. I have been through halfs, ragnars, in pain, and survived. If anyone is curious, my bones are nice and strong. No sign of close to a fracture - stress or otherwise. I am honestly in one of the best places as I work with a trainer weekly. They work my hips, butt and everything else. I am stronger than ever. But, why is it hard to believe I AM stronger and just believe in myself?

My dear I'm glad that you had good physical therapy working with you! So you know that your bones are healthy, you're aware of the hip compensation going on and work with a trainer weekly. Sounds lal good to me!

Believe in you! There are so many who believe in you, but the most important one is YOU believing in you.

    HUGS to you.

    And good luck.
