Feelings matter

Friday, March 08, 2019

I just spent three or four months at the same weight. That's great! Because it included the Christmas period. It's a miracle I didn't put anything on. I practised my usual Spark eating habits but indulged a bit too. It worked!

What has been interesting is that I haven't felt the impulse to move forward and lose the next ten pounds. Until now. During this time I have celebrated my previous weight loss (ten pounds) and adjusted to, and enjoyed my new body.

Now, only when I'm ready, have I started the next phase of weight loss. I found that when I thought about losing the next bit of fat off my body I came across emotional resistance. It felt vulnerable. What I realise is that the extra weight on my body was "security".

In the past I think I pushed through and forced myself to lose the weight even if it felt vulnerable. Whereas now, with a bit more patience, my feelings have caught up.

Wanted to share in case anyone experiences the same thing.

Lots of love,
