January has been a very good month for me. I've managed to workout all days but one and have an 18 day streak going of logging into SparkPeople and of 10 minutes of exercise per day. I've accomplished this even though January has been very busy with three kids playing basketball: 7th grade boys, 7th grade girls, and Varsity High School.
I change up my exercises based on my schedule and the weather. When I go to the YMCA for my daughter's swim team practices, I do the elliptical and weights with some stretching. When I don't have to drive to the Y, but can get out of the house, I go to the smaller local gym and do the elliptical and helix. At home I'll do Beach Body videos, some cardio but mostly beginners yoga classes. If all else fails, I walk the basement hallways at work. One loop takes about 8 minutes.
Walking at work is what I did today with the extremely cold weather on the way and a basketball game tonight. A gentleman from the housekeeping department saw me, smiled and cheered, "Give it to me up here! Great job!" as he high-fived me.
That was awesome! Encouragement from a stranger!
