Busy, Busy...now "Chillin" in Warmth!

Tuesday, January 15, 2019

Picked up the GK's yesterday after work. They spent the night with me. Such sweeties!

DH is super under-the-weather. I called the doctor this morning and told him what was going on with him. They scheduled him for an appointment this evening. I got done with the GK's this afternoon and then came home and took him to the doctor. The doc is suspecting pneumonia and he got a chest x-ray. We'll know later today or tomorrow what they found but the doctor is going ahead and treating it as pneumonia and prescribed meds. Hopefully, he'll be feeling better soon.

So, it's been a whirlwind of care-taking activity for me in the last 24 hours. So, now everyone is settled and taken care of and I'm sitting down and just chillin'...if you know what I mean. I'm all about giving to others...but when it's done, I just need to refill my tanks. So, that's where I'm at now.

I had a maintenance day on the scale today and ate in range...yay! I picked up some new items to try for breakfast while I was walking the grocery store waiting for DH's prescriptions to be ready. So, I'll try those tomorrow and see what I think. Tomorrow is the one-week mark. So, I will take progress pics...and it will be my official weigh-in day. Right now, it's looking like I will have lost 5 lbs for the week...which is wonderful. My goal is 2 lbs a week. So, if I land there, I am a week and a half ahead of the game.

I think the best thing from this week and getting back into eating in range not restricting which foods I eat is that the "insanity" of out-of-control eating has stopped and I feel "normal" and "calm" and "in-control" with my eating. Food is not a major concern for me. When I get hungry, I think...that's okay...you can eat...what would you like...just eat, record, and stop...and try to get rid of the hunger.

Another discovery from this week, I love heat. It's my new "comfort food." When I am feeling anxious and need comfort, I think about getting warm or I seek out warmth to make me feel better. I got a heated blanket for Christmas and I keep it in the living room and it's nice to sit at night and snuggle up under it. This evening at the grocery, I came across an after-Christmas sale on a nice bath set. Yep, it came home with me. Merry after-Christmas to me. That's another nice, comforting, warm experience for me...soaking in a warm tub...yum.

Hope you all have a great evening! Thanks for the encouragement! Keep up the good work! Spark on! emoticon emoticon

I hope the meds help hubby feel better. Enjoy the grandbabies while you can. Mine are pretty much grown and we don't spend time together much. They are busy starting careers and families of their own. I do envy you your soaking in a warm tub. Living in our RV, that is one thing I look forward to when we return home in the spring!
