I was thinking this morning about how many married couples and single parents there are in my agency and how they are affected by this shutdown. We have no idea when our next paycheck is coming. We will get paid for the hours we worked, but some of the people in my agency haven't even been called in at all yet. We are rotating being "essential" employees so that we at least get some type of pay after this shutdown is over. I will likely be called in again next week because there are only 5 people on my team who do what I do and they are calling us in 2 by 2.
This is a very difficult time for so many people, but there are still so many things for which to be thankful.
They need to work together and get this settled. Shutdowns have happened during many different parties in the oval office. It's always about needing to work together for our good. 404 days ago
So sorry. The entire country is being held hostage by a terrorist who has a middle school mentality and is throwing a tantrum to get his way. For the sake of thousands of workers, I hope it ends soon. 404 days ago
So sorry you (and thousands of others) are going through this tough time. The workers who are being shut off from their jobs had nothing to do with causing the political divide that has resulted in the shutdown. 405 days ago
