My gift to me

I'm probably one of the most back and forth people Spark has ever had. But, the one thing I realized is that when I was consistent with food tracking that was the only time in the last ten years that I managed to lose any weight. So, my gift to myself this holiday season is Spark. I am pledging 30 days of daily check-ins and tracking. This is a gift I totally deserve. I can give myself the time for tracking, the daily reflection on my goals, and the community I desperately need to actually achieve my goals.

My biggest goal is to lose weight so I can fit in my racing boats again. One of my daughters is turning 13 this January, and she is a great athlete. I think she would be an incredible sprint racer, but the only way I can get her to try is if I am there with her. And I want to be there! If I can lose just 30 pounds I should be able to fit in my two person sprint racing kayak and take her out. I could even do a low-key race with her. Then she could see if she likes the sport and wants to go further with it. Then I could do some masters races, and she could do some bantam races. It would be wonderful! The key is me though. Can I do this? I can't seem to manage to lose weight with my lifestyle- which includes tons of physical activity. So, my gift to myself is to try. I am taking this in small chunks, so I am starting with pledging 30 days of daily nutrition tracking. For me the physical part is easy, but the nutrition is not for many reasons that I will work on.
