Gearing up for 2019, Which has got to better than 2018

Monday, December 10, 2018

This year has officially sucked. I had spine surgery which took care of a lot of my pain from my work injury, but not all of it. I lost my dog to leukemia. My kids father, whom I was with for 21 years, died of cancer. My daughter is having like weekly migraines and my son just randomly cries sometimes. I gained weight. Some days I don't want to get out of bed.

So starting today (I already did it) I am getting up an hour early and walking. It can be just around the block. The point is just to restart healthy habits. As long as I put the workout clothes on and go outside, I am considering it a success. That is the hardest part, after all.

The diet is including a lot more fruit veggies today too. I started that yesterday. Hopefully these little changes, lead to more little changes until I am healthy and happy again. The only thing I do have control of in life is my own actions.

Just for balance... because I realized my perspective is all wrong when I posted this. This year I got into grad school. My son graduated high school. I had friends who stepped up when I needed them and helped me out with a lot of stuff. I got a new puppy. I think besides the walk, I need to dust off the gratitude journal too.

It seems like you experienced a lot of the ups and downs of life. It looks like they were fairly evenly balanced.

It looks like you are taking steps (literally) to add more ups. Good for you!!

I think most of us would do well to keep working on our gratitude journals.

Every year would be better than the preceding one if only we will make it so!

    Keep on Keeping on!

Make today the greatest day of your life!
    Until tomorrow!
