We FINALLY got enough boxes unpacked that I can fit my car in the garage. Not a moment too soon, since it started snowing the day we accomplished that.
So lately it's all been about unpacking boxes and either finding a place for the contents or donating them. We're hosting a bunch of friends for Thanksgiving this year and as a result I'm having to be sort of a Nazi about making sure there's a place for everything, and everything in its place. Not so easy with another human in the house, not to mention FOUR cats and a dog (who all like getting a running start and carpet-surfing - I swear they do it on purpose).
The upstairs is pretty much tidied and vacuumed. Now I have to tackle the downstairs (which is bigger but we spend more time down there and it is de-cluttered a bit more frequently).
H went to the store today to get the organic turkey and all the things for the meal that we're cooking. I'm trying hard to include healthy options for folks - like Greek Yogurt dip (with Italian dressing mixed in) with raw veggies, a squash dish (we grew some Hubbards this year), an apple crisp that went light on the sugar and crisp and includes raisins.
Lately I've had more time to deal with these things because I'm only working 4 days a week, and that suits me just fine!
The need to update the Maintenance Anniversaries data brought me back here, and I find it's good for me to see and respond to the messages from folks who are also in the trenches, doing whatever they can in whatever way they can, to stay healthy despite the odds against us.
Living off-grid means that at home I can't really visit this site on my tiny little phone - too slow to load and the screen is too crowded with ads. So I have to find time during lunch breaks and after work to check in.
Happy and healthy holidays to all - stay warm and safe and find time for your mental and physical well being!
