Serenity Health & Fitness Camp

Now that I have the luxury of time to focus on myself, my needs and goals, I have created a personal fitness camp and there's only one member: me. emoticon I have told my family that the final week of July and all of August consider me gone to camp. emoticon Fortunately, my DH is heartily on board with this and everyone, including him, is very supportive. I am blessed.

It all started a couple of weeks ago when I started exercising my sore knees in the pool in our back yard for 15 minutes twice a day. This one small act brought me amazing benefits! My knees are 75% improved and I am able to walk up stairs in a normal fashion. emoticon

During the last two weeks of July, I have focused on (besides the knee exercises) drinking water. I have a quart jar and in the morning, I pick some herbs from my garden (I prefer lemony ones) and pour cold water over them and some ice. I keep refilling this throughout the day. While I am in the pool, I have a plastic bottle of water to keep me hydrated.

I still don't have the water habit as ingrained as it needs to be, so I am continuing to focus on that without adding much else but also keeping to my pool times.

I've gradually increased the pool exercise time. It became 30 minutes, and now it is up to 60 minutes, after which I reward myself with some wonderful sunshine on my skin. I just ask Father Sun to bring healing to my body as I bask in the warmth and enjoy the view from atop my big air mattress.

I've also managed to work in some strength exercises for my arms as I lie face down on the mattress, by holding onto the sides of the pool with arms extended outward like wings and move the mattress with my weight on it from side to side. I can really feel this one!

My weigh days are Thursdays in the morning.
