Thought for the day

Thursday, June 28, 2018

I've discovered that just because something tastes good doesn't mean it's good for me. Now I know most of you are thinking "duh" but sometimes the most obvious thing takes awhile to sink in. For example, last night we had Dairy Queen. Now I love ice cream, but lately it doesn't really like me. Nothing really bad mind you, just that feeling of bloating and being uncomfortable. I've decided that I really don't like feeling like that, so DQ you are off my list. This is my journey and right now this is where it is taking me. So as I sit here eating my grapes, I will just enjoy the moment and not worry about what lies around the next bend.

I take your words to heart! I know exactly what you mean!!! For me - I also add "portions" to that list. Sometimes I just eat TOO MUCH of something - like - if I had eaten HALF of what I actually did eat - my mind and my body would be so much better off. Last night, for example, we had hamburgers for dinner. I didn't eat the bun! I also passed on the chips and ate a double portion of green beans. Small changes but I felt so much better after dinner and I don't think anyone at the table really noticed - which I like. It always bothers me when I feel that I'm not really eating what everybody else is. I didn't make a big deal of the small changes and nobody else did either but I felt so much better.
Best of luck to you and Keep Sparking!
