Walking the dogs to Mills Pond
Saturday, April 28, 2018
I am fortunate that we have a very nice park with a green belt crushed granite path that goes to a pond. This pond is 1.5 miles from my house so a round trip is 3 miles. The dogs and I walk to the pond every morning and then in the afternoon we walk other trails through our neighborhood.
I have two dogs. The dog with the white chest is Meena. I adopted her on Feb. 25 of this year. She is two years old and has turned into a wonderful companion for my other dog, Ellie. They get along well, play together, and now they even sleep on the couch together.
This is Mills Pond in the morning. It is very peaceful and I enjoy listening to the birds and my dogs are always on the lookout for squirrels and rabbits. Below are some of the flowers we pass as we walk to the pond.
I do not know the kind of cactus but the flower was very pretty.
I realize this is a closeup of blue bonnets but we pass this field when we walk to the pond.
When we get home the girls take a short nap and I have my breakfast watching the birds share the bird bath in my flower garden. Texas in the spring is such a wonderful time for flowers, birds and very long dog walks.
