I didn't complete the challenge

Sunday, March 04, 2018

Hubby and I joined our community weight loss challenge a few weeks ago, but we have dropped out. We each lost about 4.5 pounds, but then started gaining a little each week. We just decided the timing wasn't right for us with all the things we have going on right now. I know that sounds like just an excuse, but I haven't had time to plan ahead for meals We've just been grabbing and eating on the run for a lot of our meals.
I know our lives will get back to normal once I get through tax season and we get our house built. I'm also purging a lot of "stuff" out of our current home of 37 years. That's a lot of "stuff" folks!
As I'm getting older, I can't accomplish everything I would like to each day. I just have to let a few things go and do what I can. My weight loss will be a lot slower now, but with less stress to be perfect at the scale. I don't feel like a failure! I am not giving up on getting to my goal.

Sorry you didn't make it to the end, but sometime LIFE just happens and there is nothing we can do about it but except it and move on. Maybe when this crazy weather straighten out you can get at it again. Good luck with all the purging. That is work by itself.

You're being honest. We have to be able to manage our lives/diet in a reasonable way. Don't forget that it's said that stress itself can cause weight gain. Maybe if the pressure is off a little, you will actually do better. Anyway, do your best and don't worry about it. You're a good kid!

So sorry you didn't get to complete the challenge. It is something to realize how much goes into being healthy! I'm always amazed with that when the idea is taken from an idea to actual life. LOL! This is what is wonderful about the SP approach. Start with what you can do. What change can you do now? If you don't have time to plan now, how about time to take a walk together each, or every-other, day and chat together about one goal a day, a week, or what ever time frame makes sense for you and your husband to make one additional change which makes sense to both of you. Make a habit of these great habits before moving on into new ones--and before you know it, next tax season will be here and life will have changed in great ways no one can imagine now.

You are going through a lot right now...totally understand. I wouldn't have joined it myself in the first place...not one to go to things like that.. Even Weight watchers...put too much pressure on me. Just do the best you can and keep eating healthy choices when possible. I know you won't give up...you've worked too hard to get where you are now. ❤ Hugs
