Something Always Stops Us

Anytime we start to think we'll be okay to go ahead and get married something happens to sop us. This time it's not just one thing but 3 things we have to deal with: kitchen floor has to be replaced cause floor so bad it caused a big hole in it. if we don't fix it even though moved portable dishwasher the fridge will fall through taking a lot of the kitchen with it. Both cars are down so have to get at least one of them running again. Got doctor appointments one being all the way in Ann Arbor about 2 hours away. And third our oldest dog is getting sick again, she's going on 4 to 5 years old. As you read in the past a couple of years ago on April 1st another of our dogs, 13 years old to cancer. Losing another one will devastate us all. So we have to take her to the vet and find out what is going on with her. See three very important things that need to be taken care of causing us to postpone getting married for who knows how long. That's why feel something is against us or even just me from doing what is right and making our relationship official. We have been engaged now for over 5 years, I think that's right, and I'm so ready to be this wonderful man's wife. Oh Well as I always say, C'est La Vie, That's Life. That's my life! emoticon emoticon

    CASCOTT62 like told the others we can't afford to lose my SSI check and I can't afford to lose my Medicaid.right now. To fix the kitchen floor we're looking at least $350 to $400. Depending on how serious sick our dog is who knows how much that going to cost us. Same thing with our truck and car who knows how much that going to take us down. Finally last but not least i can't lose my Medicaid cause they are paying for my oral surgery and dentures.

    Thank you all for your comments. First AUNA_VISTA going to the Justice of the Peace was our plan all along cause already had a nice size wedding and it didn't last very long. My fiancé has already been married several times and they didn't last for him. Going to the Justice of Peace was going to be simple two of our best friends to witness it. Then a small party at our home after with just our closest friends. That was going to be cheap and simple. Problem was that with everything going wrong we can't afford right now losing my SSI check. Most of all my Medicaid cause the appointments down in Ann Arbor is where I am having my teeth extracted and Medicaid is paying for that, They're also paying for my dentures. Next appointment is on April 4th just hope can make that appointment who knows where will be the next day they can get me in. Just had another piece of my tooth break off last night.

    Our dog Misty has had a very sensitive stomach for some time but is also very selective on what dog food she'll eat. We've tried giving her Blue Basic liked first day next day wouldn't eat it anymore. Same thing with all other grain free dog foods until gave her grain free Beneful and she likes that as long as it is the chicken one. But the only thing is something isn't completely right with her don't know what it could be she's still not acting like the Misty we know and love. Hoping the vet can and it's nothing too serious. As for the kitchen we can't shut it off that's cause that is where the fridge, stove, and all our cooking and serving utensils are. I've been thinking where can we move that fridge and keep having use of the ice maker. My fiancé can't handle heat so has to have ice in his coffee so can be cool enough that he can drink it.

    Wow, you do have some financial problems right now! I am so sorry to hear about them. It sounds like they're all pretty urgent. If it's a lot colder in your house due to the floor problem in the kitchen, could your dog be getting sick from that? Maybe the floor could be closed off better, so that it's warmer in your house. And wearing a doggie sweater or coat indoors might help her also, if it's very cold. Can the part of the house where your kitchen is be closed off for a while, until it's more insulated? I'm just guessing about the cold. If it isn't, then good job on temporarily fixing that! I would prioritize the dog's vet appointment over actually fixing the floor, because like you said, losing her would devastate you. Our animals are family!

    When things are looking a bit better, maybe you could save money by just visiting the Justice of the Peace. That's what one of my friends did. And she had a party at her sister's house afterwards. It wasn't fancy, but it was fun! The day was still very exciting. It was a wedding! That's always going to be exciting, no matter how you do it. If you didn't have a party, people would probably understand, given that you've been engaged so long. You could send out some homemade announcements and then people would know about the marriage happening.
