What Is Love Anyway ?

Love, real love is defined in 1st Corinthians 13
1 If I speak in the tongues of men and angels but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. (a noisy annoyance)
2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but I have not love, I am nothing. (Void of what matters most in life)
3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, ( do all manner of good deeds and make all kinds of sacrifices ) but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient; love is kind. It does not envy; it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hope, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails....... 13 And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love."
1 Peter 4:8 NIV
"Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."
Proverbs 17:9 NIV "He who covers a transgression seeks love,
But he who repeats a matter separates friends."
Love is an action. We have many opportunities to show our appreciation to others. The next time we question "Is this love?" We can ask ourselves, does this line up with what the Bible teaches us about love? We have a guide to turn to, which is the word of God. His holy spirit is said to lead us in his truth.
John 14:25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
So we can know the truth. The truth comes to free us from misconceptions and lies that we have been accustom to believing, about love. We can know when we are treating others with the God kind of love, and when others treat us in a godly, loving sort of way.
What we, what this nation, this whole world needs now, is the God kind of love toward one another. Love is the answer, more love.
