Healthy Holiday Challenge - Day 7

So I have lots to report and most of it is good. I have stayed on track with the challenge except for eating a bit off track yesterday, but even saying that it's not nearly like it might have been in the past.

So yesterday's tip was to make a plan for those days that you have a slip up, and I guess I need that plan for today. But the one thing about me is that I don't tend to beat myself up over slip ups, because I do know that to be in this for the long haul, no food can really be permanently off limits. The true goal, for me anyway, is moderation. So here was a test, and I feel like I passed.

And today's nutritional tip is to get in my full complement of fruits and veggies, which I pretty much always do because of the fact that those are zero points in the WW plan. The motivational tip is to recognize what a good job I'm doing with this, which I know I am, not only because I know it, but I had a very big loss on the scale yesterday, which just goes to show that planning ahead and being mindful of my eating, coupled with a little activity to just keep me on track is a recipe for success for myself.

And speaking of activity, I ran out of time on Friday so did not get my full body workout in, so yesterday I did that workout plus a low impact HIIT workout, and I just finished a yoga workout today. I must say I do like the variety, but I think I need to in some instances find workouts more appropriate to my current ability, which is a fairly low level. I'm not beating up on me with that statement, nor am I being lazy, but I do believe that I would be better served doing workouts in which I can do all the exercises instead of having to modify so many of them.

So I go into Thanksgiving week feeling pretty good and confident that I'm capable of fully enjoying the holiday without gouging myself, because I did that for two events last weekend and still lost 5.2 lbs., and I am sure that a lot of that has to do with this challenge. SparkPeople really is the gift that keeps on giving.

    Keep up the great work Tina! Jessica Smith does have a lot of workouts that are at a lower level, maybe that's the reason I love her so much! There is nothing wrong with modifying. I still do with certain moves. Here's to a great week!
