2 Healthy Halloween recipes

Before the grandkids gear up for Halloween, I will be making 2 healthy Halloween treats for them and they help too!

No Bake Monster Pizza


¾ cup guacamole 4 6-inch whole-wheat pitas 16 slices cucumber, ¼ inch thick 4 (1 ounce) sticks mozzarella string cheese, each cut into 12 rounds 1 tablespoon cooked or canned black beans, halved

Spread 3 tablespoons guacamole over each pita. Top each with 4 cucumber slices, 12 cheese slices and 12 bean halves, creating eyeballs by placing half a bean on each cheese slice; place some of these on cucumber slices. Cut the pizzas into wedges or serve whole.

Witches Smoothie Bowl

1 cup frozen mango chunks 1 cup packed baby spinach ½ frozen banana, sliced (about ½ cup) ½ cup whole-milk plain yogurt ¼ cup reduced-fat milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon chia seeds, divided 1 strawberry

Combine mango, spinach, banana, yogurt, milk, vanilla and ½ teaspoon chia seeds in a blender. Puree until smooth. Pour the smoothie into a bowl and create the witch face by trimming the strawberry to look like a mouth and forming squinting eyes with the remaining ½ teaspoon chia seeds.
