Note to self... Remember this

Wednesday, October 18, 2017

Last week was a mess starting on Thursday. There was a cry for help from the hallway. My hubby and I were asleep but I heard it and woke up. There was a second cry for my hubby. It was his mom. She's 77 and she lives with us. She couldn't breath very well so we called the ambulance. She went to the hospital with congestive heart failure.

She has had 2 heart attacks, 1 mastectomy, 1 leg surgery, blind from diabetes and a hip replacement. She's a TOUGH COOKIE! :) She is in a rehab now.

I spent the next day getting her into the hospital and making sure she was as stable as she could be. Then, Thursday night got very ill and had to stay home from work on Friday.. (I work from home but I was not moving far from the bed on Friday).

So I lacked in scheduled exercise but got in a lot of steps on my tracker.

Although life is stressful right now... I haven't given up on my goals. I even started to try and sew--- have no idea what I am doing except for youtube vids.

I am on my 3rd day in a row of exercise. I started a guided meditation routine today as well. I need to let go of control and keep up my goals and maintain my boundaries.

Anyway --- NEVER GIVE UP! GET up, BRUSH yourself off and START AGAIN! :)

I hope you and your MIL feel better! You are doing a great job helping her through all her troubles, but don't forget to take care of you! I can relate... I took care of my ex but neglected me and was sick all the time. I had to leave him for other reasons, but I'm taking care and being selfish! Being selfish is a good thing a lot of the time, actually! I know you love her, but don't forget to love you! ((hugs))

Hope you MIL is better soon. It's very hard to take care of ourselves sometimes when we have family members with a medical crisis. Be sure to take some time to take care of yourself. emoticon

That had to be a stressful situation. Glad you were able to get your MIL in the hospital right away and things have turned around so she could go to rehab. Prayers for you and your family that she will be able to be back home soon. Don't forget to take good care of yourself too. Stay strong and determined. You can do it.

Love your persistence, determination and ability to go with the flow without letting it terminate your forward progress. I hope you are completely over whatever hit you and that your MIL is adapting to her new situation and gets stronger every day. Keep hanging in there!

Sending you and your family all good thoughts and prayers emoticon
That is so very scary and stressful! Even with the initial scare over, I am sure it is stressful getting to and from the Rehab center for visits - I hope it is a nice place.

What a great attitude to just try to focus on what you CAN do, rather than worry and be anxious over what you cannot control. Please let me know how your MIL is progressing. And remember to take time for yourself ...
