3 Goodbyes too many...
Monday, September 25, 2017
Today we said goodbye to our greyhound Teresa. We had known this day was coming...in July we had her at the e-vet for issue with her hind section (leg weakness, etc) and while the x-ray showed some disk issues, it also found lung cancer...and a LOT of it. Last month our vet took another x-ray and confirmed it was all over her lungs, so it was just a matter of time. Today, she was unable to put any weight on her right hind leg, so my wife and I knew it was "time".
Sadly, we've repeated this two other times this year -- our boy Tomas in March and Gigi in June. And for the time being, we are a home with no puppies! First time in over 14 years!
So we think we are going to take a break from rescuing / adopting, probably until next year. We have a couple vacations coming up, and with having had issues at our former kennel in May, we need to find a new kennel, so the break will allow us to find one we are comfortable with.
So, yes, 3 goodbyes too many, but I would not trade away all the love our greyhounds have brought us!
