Scales & Trust

I left this comment on a recent post on the use of scales by Melissa Rudy staff writer @ SparkPeople.
This was a great article by Melissa! My favorite comment option was "scales are like opinions" they all differ"
Truth be told as per my Aunt (Registered Nurse for many a year ). The scale can only tell you what YOUR body tells it.
Hold on~~however your body cannot differentiate the "root weight" as that weight is never the same! Our body weight is reflected by not only what we put in, it is also reflecting what has or has not left our systems and we all have different systems!
The scale can only give a total of what is placed upon it not tell us 20lbs of bone mass - 1 Lb of liver - 4lbs of yet digested weight not yet eliminated etc. etc.
For this reason she suggested BM first (Bowl Movement) and then the scale before you start your day.
Remember, we're the ones in control of what goes in that keeps our bodies nourished which encourages our "EXIT" system. If not she suggested minus 4lbs of your scale weight as a safe estimate.
My favorite workout quote "KEEP ON MOVIN ON" applies to more than just my running and exercise programs.
