Our share of Goliaths...

Hubby & I have had our share of Goliaths lately. We have faced many challenges over the last 3-1/2 years -- sick parents, the death of hubby's mom, extremely difficult situations at work, opportunities that looked promising but they fell through the cracks, and so many more. I have been asking God why, but deep down, I already knew why & I have known for a long time. I received confirmation this morning when I read this verse that landed in my email inbox:
"Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." (James 1:3-4, NKJV)
This long, long season of testing usually means that there is some major character building involved, along with some serious growing pains. It also sometimes means that God is preparing you for something big. But as this verse says, God wants us to "lack nothing." So here we are. We are being prepared as David was being prepared to meet Goliath the giant on the battlefield. We will continue on, step by step, until we reach the pinnacle of whatever it is for which God has prepared us. Then, we will lack nothing. We will be molded into whatever it is that God has called us to be for that time.
If you are going through difficult seasons like this, hang in there. You are not alone.
