MY ANNIVERSARY--JOINED SPARKS A YEAR AGO, i'VE LIKED MY NAME THAT i CHOSE AND HOW I SET UP MY SPARKS PAGE WHICH HAS BEEN A GREAT MOTIVATOR. lOST INCHES, FEW POUNDS, GETTING MY EATING INTO A ROUTINE WHERE i DON'T HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT. oNLY HAVE TO WATCH WHAT i BUY AT THE GROCERY STORE.

Also, I read that there is a raw diet where everything you eat is raw, no, i'm not getting on it, and go crazy, but when I did my grocery shopping most of it was fresh fruits. I even tried a couple of things that I hadn't before.
It made me go back to when I was a kid and we had so many fresh veggies from the garden and the fruit in bushel baskets which mom went to the fruit farm to pick. Today I remembered the fresh young peas which were still in the pod. Mom wouldn't let us pick too many but my sister and I loved the tiny fresh peas. Some of the things we could eat in the garden, like the peas because they were in the pods. Mom didn't use much insecticides, instead she liked the natural things like she would pepper the cabbage because the bugs in our neighborhood didn't like pepper on the cabbage.
just wanted to say that I'm simplifying my diet for summer, getting away from the processed foods and tracking my food using the sparks way.
I read a diet idea from a web site about how totally raw is the way to go, and for so much $ you can learn their plan, well, I wasn't about taking everything out of my kitchen and starting over, so I said, wait a minute, I love raw stuff, so just start adding it to my diet. I have more energy and it is helping.
I looked like a rabbit going from the grocery store~~melons, parsley, cucumbers, red beets, corn, onions, nuts~~walnuts and some trail mix, plums, I think that's it. I bought what I thought was three days worth, like three of everything....not three watermelons of course.
I remember from 4-H that you could peel a red beet and eat it raw, slice it thin, it has a woody taste and I grew up on home grown veggies, so, I can't promise that it will be to your liking. But for me mmmmm.....
anyway, I wanted to share. I live alone, so am doing this for my home food, and then when I go out with others, I'm eating with them whatever, and I babysat for my grandbaby the other night and after supper we get the cheese curls out. Welll eating the veggies, helped curb my appetite!
Second trip to the grocery store and it went easier~~the electricity went out because of a storm, and I couldn't clean the refrig before I left, but I still had some veggies that I still need to do something with. Then off to the grocery store and replacing wasn't nearly as time consuming, I got the things, more red beets that were really good.
Well, I lost being the community team leader. Good thing that it doesn't make me feel crappy or go and binge or something. I just keep plodding along. Laughingly, plodding along is a term my mom used, and I believed her....until one day I visited her when she was in her 60's and she was plodding along.......she canned in the morning, took buckets of water to the horses, orchestrated a different plot of a flower garden, fixed a full meal for my dad, rested for an hour and then was off to work a full shift as a nurse.......I couldn't keep up with her.....what a woman.

April 8th, been off the water for a long time, need to put that back into place.
My part time job.....we can drink the coffee, water and the pop.....and then I discovered the soda water. It's really good, the carbination gives it enough tang to be a little more than water.
W is for WOW~~~I joined in early July of last year, July 7th, 2006, I believe, and today I earned my VERY FIRST GOAL OF WEIGHT......talk about a plateau..........ta, da.....where are the comtrials of airplane foam??????
