In the fall of 2016 I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. The doctor prescribed amlodipine. I started to make some lifestyle changes but they weren't consistent. About 6 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with prediabetes. I felt more determined to get my health in order. My efforts became much more focused. Then, a couple of weeks after that, I tried to give blood and was turned away because of low hemoglobin. Iron supplements became a new addition to my day. I have continued to focus on my eating. I use the Diabetes Prevention and Management Cookbook for many recipes and information on the proper lifestyle for me. I have been writing down my food, but not tracking servings and such. My doctor recommended I get more detailed in my food journal so my meeting with the dietician in two weeks can be more focused on my habits and the dietician can give me specific advice. So, here I am back at Sparkpeople to use the food tracking and activity tracking.
