May update

Friday, May 19, 2017

Whew! It's been a while since I last updated this. My post-surgical site seems to be healing okay. Knock on wood, I haven't had any additional complications. My health appears to be holding steady. I also tried jogging recently -- did better than I expected. I'm half-way through Yoga with Adriene Revolution -- free yoga series for all ability levels on YouTube for those not familiar with the series. I usually do it at night before bed after I tuck my kids in. It's only about 30 minutes long for each session, which is good. The thirty minutes usually fly by. I also discovered that someone put the Sweatin to the Oldies videos up on YouTube. (Remember those?!) I've been doing the third one in that series, which I used to do when I was 13 and had just discovered what aerobics was. I have very fond memories of that time in my life.. and, amusingly, I can still remember most of the dance moves. I swear -- muscle memory kicks in as soon as I turn it on. Most of my seedlings have been planted. I still have a few (broccoli and cauliflower, mainly) to transplant into my garden. The pollinator garden is going strong. We've got dianthus, salvia, coreopsis, phlox, allysum, yarrow, and some other bee-friendly plants growing. I also started a shade garden (hostas and forget-me-nots) on the side of our driveway that doesn't get much light. It's been a very busy spring so far in our yard and I love it! Lately, my mission has been working to be kinder to myself. Sometimes, that means going to bed earlier. Other times, it's opting for a healthier food option or stepping away from my desk and getting outside for a bit during the day. I hope that you are all doing well. Have a great weekend and keep at it! :)
