Tuesday, May 16, 2017 - May Day Blog Series - Day 16

Tuesday, May 16, 2017

I had a good day yesterday, kept my eye on my goals and made a kick a$$ dinner that my mouth is still watering over: boneless, skinless chicken thighs, creamer potatoes, green beans and carrots cooked in extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, onion powder, salt and pepper. It was supposed to be cooked in the crock pot, but instead I cooked it in an electric frying pan when I got home from work, which crisped things up, which I prefer to the softness that a crockpot cooks with.

The change in weather we've been having here contributed to me being in substantial pain yesterday, last night and today. I was so sore yesterday I couldn't do my PT exercises, and last night I slept horribly because I kept waking up in pain. Today is not much better. Hopefully it will even out as this day wears on.

So, here's how I did on my goals yesterday:
1. commit to eating my planned meals and snacks, and no more - did well on this yesterday 2. do one seated workout of the several I have found on SP daily - no, too sore, hopefully today!
3. set aside 15 minutes in the middle of every day, just after lunch, to pray/meditate - check
4. report my daily progress in this May Day blog series -check

So although I find myself getting more and more nervous as my surgery approaches, I am trying to keep my eye on doing all I can to make that day as successful as possible. Hoping that the nicer weather will make my mood a bit brighter, as I've been very weepy lately. There are certainly lots of reasons for that, but the biggest is that surgery date looming ahead.

That meal does sound delicious. Leftovers for lunch? Hope that your pain lessens for you today Tina and that you can find some relief. Still sending prayers!
