Tuesday, May 2, 2017 - May Day Series

Tuesday, May 02, 2017

I will treat the fact that I am writing this blog as part of a successful beginning to my new plan, as the daily blogging is one of the goals.

With respect to yesterday, here's how I did:

1. commit to eating my planned meals and snacks, and no more - CHECK
2. do one seated workout of the several I have found on SP daily - sadly, not done
3. set aside 15 minutes in the middle of every day, just after lunch, to pray/meditate - CHECK
4. report my daily progress in this May Day blog series - CHECK

So I'm 3 for 4 on my first day. There are two ways to look at that. The first is that if I can't be 4 for 4 on the first day, when motivation is necessarily at it's highest, what are the chances I will succeed? That's the glass half empty view.

The second way to look at it, the glass half full view, is 3 for 4 is a great start and this isn't about perfection, it's about doing the best I can and not giving up. The goals are still doable, even if I did run out of time yesterday.

I guess I'll take door number 2 today. Even these small changes are daunting to me at this point. I have never been someone who didn't believe in her ability to do whatever she sets her mind to, so this is a new challenge I am not familiar with. I guess I hadn't realized how much of a toll life has taken on me over the last year or so. Just one more thing to pray about during my 15 minutes later today.
