Running With My Son
Tuesday, May 02, 2017
Yesterday I convinced my 16 year old son to go for a morning run with me. It was a bit too early for him (5.30 am), but I'm so glad he said yes because I really enjoyed his company.
The poor guy struggled quite a bit, he had to stop four times (and he plays rugby!) He apologized so many times for slowing me down, even though I kept reassuring him that I didn't mind at all. I gave him the option to do a shorter run than my normal six miles, but he insisted that we complete the run.
My greatest motivation when I started this journey was that I wanted to be able to keep up with my boys. Looks like the tables are turned now, they are the ones who cannot keep up with me. I hope to inspire then continue taking their health seriously and do all they can to stay healthy and strong.
