No, I haven't dropped totally off the planet. I have no real excuse as to why I haven't blogged. I thought about it a lot, I just didn't get to it. I was busy with work, then busy with P's 2nd birthday, then busy with work, and then finally, a houseful of sick.
But it's my birthday month!! It's here! Only 16 days left until the big 3-5!
Yesterday, I saw something that really sat well with me though, I immediately I thought I wanted to share it here.
I tend to get really bogged down when I don't see big movement on the scale. Or when I don't see movement for a few weeks and then see a bigger movement followed by nothing for a few weeks.
I have a FB group of friends who are all trying to be more healthy. One of those friends posted about having ONLY lost 2 lbs this last month (after a few months of some bigger drops) and somebody commented the following:
"Hey, 2 lbs is 2 lbs!! Imagine, if we lost 2 lbs every month? That's 24 lbs in a year!!"
I was like, "Man. That IS 24lbs in a year!"
I don't need to see a drop of 2lbs a week. I don't need to lose 1lb a week. If I lost even .5lbs a week that's 24lbs in a year!!
That was some perspective that I needed!
