I need advice. It's been a long time since I've had to accommodate a child in planning my workouts. I have recently taken custody of my 3 year old grandson, who has understandable separation issues. I gave up my gym membership with anticipation of joining the local YMCA. The Y has a nursery where my gym did not. When I got him, he had to go to daycare for me to work. Even though he is doing very well at daycare, mornings are still rough sometimes. We visited the Y and he just wasn't having it. I'm talking about death grip and real tears. So I just can't do that to him. Maybe in a lil more time, he will be secure enough but he's not now. I am pretty much alone in this. So.....I need to know how those of you in similar situations get in your workouts. Thank you for reading and any advice you can offer.

I am going to keep my two granddaughters ages 5 and 6 next week. I am thinking about doing some exercise videos here at home and seeing if they will go along with me, I have some tiny weights that they can hold.

A lot of things you do to just survive the day can be nuts. Its hard being little & not always able to communicate their feelings. You will figure out sthing that works for you. Best wishes🌸

Would leave...we would take off that T-shirt and let her have it to hold. Something about our particular smell gave her enough security for her to calm down..she is almost 2 now and we still do it. It might sound nuts but when you have children

I completely understand, I have 4 young daughters and my youngest one used to suffer from separation anxiety & it breaks your heart. Before myself or hubby would leave her for any amount of time..we would wear a particular T-shirt and right before we

Congratulations on having custody. It sounds like a challenging situation. I agree that maybe the gym is better when he's gets more comfortable and feels more secure. Maybe short term you could do stuff with him. Walks, park trips, etc.
