I've struggled the last few days with depression but am feeling better today. I'm just always in pain and feel sick so much I just don't know how much more I can take sometimes. They are upping my Wellbutrin to 450mg a day which may help. They also got a new fancy chair that can lay back and has leg supports that can be raised and support the pannus. I felt comfortable enough that it would not fall that they wheeled me outside onto a patio for about 5 minutes. It was raining but warm enough it wasn't cold, I got pretty soaked but it was worth it to have fresh air, and smell the pine trees and rain. I spoke with the case worker and the plan now is to go to wound rehab for a few weeks then back here for surgery. We shall see if that works out. Afterward I will heal a bit here then head either home or to walking rehab so they can get me walking. The places we are looking at will spend a couple weeks to get you standing and walking a bit then you head home to finish learning to really walk again. I'm still sharing the Go Fund Me my folks set up as they're trying to prepare for the months and months of rehab. Thank you all so much for sharing it and for your support. You've help make me a better man who wants to dedicate his life to helping others. I love you all, have wonderful weekend my friends!

I'm so happy that surgery is back on the table! Making sure the wounds are healing and not infected before hand is very important, though I know it means further waiting. You're in all our thoughts.
I'm glad you were able to get outside. I know how much that helps my mood. I hope you've been able to get out more times since this blog was first posted. Take care!

I'm so glad that the surgery is back on!! What you are going through right now may seem like a mountain you can't climb, but always remember that God will carry you when the way gets too hard. You also have many people praying for you each and every day. I keep you in my prayers! Blessings and hugs to you my friend!! Donna

For some reason when I log onto sparkpeople on my phone it doesn't allow me to look at my friend feed anymore. That used to be the first thing I would see. So that's why I don't see your blog's right away. Sounds like things are going in the right direction for you Tim. That's good news! I pray that the increased Wellbutrin helps ease the depression more for you. Things will get better Tim:). Take care

I missed this blog a few days ago, but am happy to read it today and hear that you were able to go outside for a while. I'm moved by the details here--that even though you got wet, you were grateful to breathe the fresh air and smell the pine trees and rain. I want you to be free in the future to go outside by yourself, walk without pain, take deep breaths of fresh air, and smell all the smells of every season for the rest of your life. You can do this! This will happen! You have a lot of people on your side, praying for you and hoping that each day brings stronger hope for a better life.

Glad to hear about the new chair and that you were able to go outside. You are moving towards your goals. It may not be the speed we want, but you will get there. Your health will be better. Your depression will decrease. I have every belief that this experience, while painful, will lead you to touch others with great compassion and help them with their journey.

Being outside, even for only 15 minutes, must have felt wonderful! When my kids were small they would dance outside in the rain. One day that you be you Tim - dancing in the rain! Keep strong, we are all behind you.

Still praying. Hang in there!! Just remember that nothing surprises God. He already knew what you'd be going through at this very moment & He's already there. He will be with you every step of the way.

    NEVER ALONE
Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!
If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.
If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me,
and the light about me be night,”
    even the darkness is not dark to you;
the night is bright as the day,
for darkness is as light with you.
    Psalm 139:7-12 (ESV)

Looking forward to the videos in the future that show you walking unassisted. One step at a time. We didn't get here in a day and it won't be fixed in a day either. We can do this. You can do this Tim. When you're feeling depressed just remember it's the devil sowing that depression and self-doubt. Tell him you know who you belong to and kick him out of your head.

Tim, I'm sure you're going to feel a lot better once you can have that surgery. I know that your legs have probably turned to jelly with being bedridden for so long, but once you're just dealing with "normal" issues of weight loss, you can work to regain that strength. You'll likely have to use a walker for a bit, but not for long if at all. I'm glad you were able to get some fresh air today. I'm looking for the day when you're able to walk around the block or out to the mailbox (or whatever your first goal will be) so that you can fight the depression with fresh air and exercise! That will be glorious, right?
