I realized this morning that in just a few months I will have been a member at Sparkpeople for 9 years. I was beating myself up about that, in nearly 9 years I have never met my original goal. I have been close and regained a few pounds but never met goal. I went from that negative thought to another, I didn't pass up on the donut this morning. Then another negative thought, I'm really behind on activity minutes this week.
Then my inner cheerleader came running in.
Hey, 9 years ago when I joined I lost a substantial amount of weight and in that amount of time I have managed to keep off 42 pounds. That's great! So what I had 1 donut, I made good choices yesterday and I have the rest of today to make good choices. Yea, it's bad that I'm behind on activity time but I have today and tomorrow to hit goal. Which I absolutely can do if I am diligent.
So when the negative thoughts come crushing down
give yourself a pep talk.
Call in your own personal inner cheerleader
Don't let a bad choice, or two get you down.
