Week 1 - Check In - Marathon Training

Well, week 1 of marathon training has passed...my left leg still is tight and hurts but I am pushing through it. I am hoping that more outside runs will get my body ready.

This marathon training time I am actually loading my workouts and my times into my fitness tracker which is pretty cool! I have not used that tool in forever! So my updates are truly just going to consist of life updates, things that are good and things that I will need to improved and focus on as I chug along...

EXERCISE - I did all of my marathon workouts and as planned I did 2 outside runs. However, my times have still be slower for me, I am running at like a 9.2 to 9.5 pace right now for outside runs whereas I used to run closer to an 8.5 or even 8 pace! GRRR! I am hoping that this is a matter of shaking out the cobwebs since I ran too many slow pace treadmill runs since my last marathon in October. Speed will be my focus in the coming week. In addition, I printed and followed through with my 21 training plan from runeatrepeat. It was cool because I made daily and weekly fitness goals which I am sticking to. Also, I have added planks 2x last week as well as foam rolled and stretched fairly consistently as well.

NUTRITION - Finally seeing some weight loss - not a huge loss talking 3lbs but I'll take it! I have been sticking with my no sugar movement, last weekend was week #2 in meeting that goal! My carb intake has not been great but my veggies especially green ones have increased. Overall totally happy with progress in this specific area! Looking to keep up the momentum.

WORK - New year, new attitude as it relates there. Change some of my team style, have been consistent with meetings and doing more one on one checks ins. Current plans underway for training sessions. All in all focusing on my own team.

HOME - Not so much there going on particularly. My home is happy and healthy, my kids are good. As far as my co-habitation bf plan, not much progress there thus far but we agreed to check in after 1st quarter to check in on progress to get things ready for the big move. This all came across rather business like - it's really not! But matter of the heart are kinda are tough to talk about and we both have a lot of moving pieces. I'm trying to let things come naturally but cannot help to be the big planner that I am :)

SELF - My school stuff is going well! I got my transcripts, mailed them in, found out classes start in March. Just waiting to move along to pick a schedule. Only "concern" is making sure to balance my time, it worries me...

That's about it for the week 1 check in, starting off the year strong!

    Kids, bf, school, and marathon training, lots of moving parts is an understatement Work on endurance, no need to worry about pace at this point, you got plenty to worry about. You can do this!
