Photos - A perspective of a skinny person

Thursday, December 22, 2016

I was eating lunch at work the other day listening to 2 co-workers talking. The one said I don't think I know the person you are talking about...show me a photo. The other got on FB and showed photo. The person said oh a head shot....she must be fat. Everyone stopped and looked at the worker. The worker said all heavy people take head shots and never full body photos or even photos from the waist up. They hide and are ashamed. Then I realized I do this and when I did lost a bunch of weight I was all about photos...until I gained it back again. I do realize some heavier people embrace their bodies and some hide but the comment took me back (not by the rudeness) but the reality heavy folks hide. We try to make ourselves invisible. At least some do. The comment made me feel down for days. Nobody likes a reality on a Monday afternoon. 🙄

Your right!! I hide from photos, I know how big I look and the camera seems to add another 20-30 pounds on me. I hate getting my picture taken!!!
