Update: Thanksgiving

Sunday, December 04, 2016

Here's my Thanksgiving goal: lose 3#, read 1 book, and stop working by 5pm every night, so I can relax with my family.

I lost 9#!!!!
Here's how: I did a 5-day juice/smoothie fast the first week of the month. I've done it before and it does a great job of getting rid of my cravings for junk food and helps me get rid of bloating from previous poor food choices. I didn't weigh myself until Friday after Thanksgiving, almost 2 weeks post juice/smoothie fast. I was EXCITED needless to say that I had met this goal!

Read 1 book--CHECK!
I have a friend who is writing a young adult novel, and I was one of the lucky ones to read the 2nd version of her rough draft. It was approximately 80,000 words and very well written. It also gave me the chance to use some of my English education background, that I don't get to use all too often anymore.

Quit by 5pm daily: work in progress
I honestly forgot about this portion of the goal, BUT I have been working on sitting down and just relaxing when everyone else is. We recently hired an organizer to come help me get our house in line, so everything has a place. It has been so helpful! I have gotten rid of stuff and learned how to organize things so that clean up is a breeze. I didn't meet this goal, but the progress I have made is miraculous!

Here are my action steps to ensure I meet it by Christmas:
3:00 Begin looking for a stopping point
3:30 Write to do list for tomorrow/week
3:45 Clean desk/pickup
4:00 In house, starting supper and pickup/empty dishwasher/laundry
4:15 Girls home from school
Rest of the night: supper, playing with girls, relaxing with family

Overall, I'm excited for my progress. I'm leaps and bounds ahead of where I was when I started this. I felt like I was under a big black cloud and miserable. Today, I feel amazing and my mental attitude is better than it ever has been.
