Progress not perfection

Monday, October 10, 2016

My mindset in the current BLC 32 seems to have taken a new direction. (My daughter would usually break into a song by the young male heartthrob band if she heard me say that emoticon )
I want to share I am making headway on reducing the all or none mentality and reintroducing more of a balance into my life.
I am allowing myself to have more foods which are decadent more frequently, just not in unlimited quantities. And when I do make that allowance, I am offsetting it with less calories for my meals and snacks throughout the rest of the day instead of thinking "I've blown it and I'll start again tomorrow."
I am not spending hours upon hours exercising, especially if, as in the past, it was to make up for last night's binge. My butt can't sit on the bike that long and now with no running, I need to more closely track and monitor my food~ which I am doing!

I am using LOTS of positive self talk and sometimes just talk to change my thoughts of going on that binge. I do avoid being in supermarkets or near some food if I am feeling too susceptible or likely to buy and overeat, just because I want to have it. And I feel stronger because of it.

Oh, I still have quite a ways to go to get to my goal. And I will probably have more slip ups than I want to admit, but I will continue to work toward my goal, reminding myself why I am doing this and that I am worth the effort!

I'm glad you're doing so well. It's great to finally discover your mindsets aren't working and to develop new, healthier ones, isn't it?

    Have a great day!
